Planners urged to approve another Cumbrian wind turbine

Councillors are being recommended to approve plans for a wind turbine.

Empirica Investments Limited wants to erect a 67-metre high structure on land to the west of Goose Green Farm, at Crookdale, near Aspatria.

Allerdale council’s development control panel will consider the bid when it meets on Tuesday.

Anti-windfarm campaigners and some people who live near the site have lodged objections against the proposals.

They include fears that the turbine would be “an overbearing structure and would have a significantly detrimental effect on visual amenity” and concerns about heavy vehicles going to the construction site.

But a report to councillors recommends approval, subject to conditions.

The biggest scotch egg in the world - can Cumbria crack the record?

Yes. There's nothing we don't know about food - or portion control.

Hope so - another feather in our cap.

What a waste of time. Just silly.
