A 71-year-old woman was cut from her car by firefighters after an accident near Penrith.
The accident happened near Glassonby, on a route known locally as Robberby Road at 10.15am.
It involved a Land Rover, driven by a 35-year-old local man, and a Honda Jazz, driven by the pensioner from Penrith.
Two fire crews from Lazonby and Penrith used hydraulic cutting equipment to release the woman.
She was taken to Carlisle’s Cumberland Infirmary by air ambulance but police said her injuries were not life threatening.
The man was taken to hospital by ambulance to be checked over.
