Copeland council will begin its new waste collections in the week beginning November 5.

Every householder will receive their new calendar in the week beginning October 22 which details when their household waste, garden waste and ‘black box’ recycling collections will occur.

Around 75 per cent of people will see a change to their collection day.

To smooth the start of the new collections, everyone will get a black bin (household waste) collection in the week beginning October 29.

Copeland’s portfolio holder for environment and sustainability, councillor Allan Holliday, said: “I would urge everyone to read their new calendar thoroughly – it will give them all the information they need, including bank holidays, black box collections, and garden waste collections over winter.

Those who have not already received a new waste calendar should do in the next few days.
