Fond farewells will be said to a charity worker as she swaps one good cause for another.

Deb Muscat will leave her post as development director for Cumbria Community Foundation (CCF) in January to take up a new post as head of marketing and income generation with Hospice at Home West Cumbria.

Andy Beeforth, director of the community foundation, said: “Deb has been a big part of the community foundation team and we will miss her.

“I’m delighted that she is going to work for such a worthwhile local charity.”

Deb paid tribute to her colleagues and friends.

“It is always difficult to leave a successful organisation like the foundation and I will miss the team,” she said.

“I wish to thank them, the trustees and CCF funders that have been so helpful and supportive over the last six years – in particular during the November 2009 Flood Appeal.

“However, I am looking forward to working with my new colleagues and the challenges that of a new job will present.”
