New blaze breaks out at Carlisle recycling site

Firefighters were called back to the scene of a major blaze at the Cumbria Waste Management site yesterday.

The recycling site was heavily damaged during a fire on Thursday afternoon and firefighters left an area to smoulder which caught fire again around 3pm.

A fire crew from each of Carlisle's fire stations battled the blaze in Kingmoor Road for two hours before it was completely extinguished.

There was no further damage caused to the site during the blaze.
