A court was told that 31-year-old Mark Hamilton, who doesn’t normally drink, had been celebrating at the wedding in the town’s Gables Hotel

Hamilton, of Ashgill in Lanarkshire, admitted committing a breach of the peace when he appeared before the Sheriff at Dumfries.

The court was told that Hamilton had been at the reception with his partner.

Guests heard shouting and swearing and saw Hamilton running through the reception wearing no clothes. He was later stopped by police walking on the nearby A75 road.

His solicitor said Hamilton didn’t remember much about the incident.

Sheriff George Jamieson warned Hamilton to be of good behaviour and deferred sentence for three months.
