Maryport man jailed for drug offence

A man has been jailed for eight months for possessing methadone with intent to supply.

James Thompson, 33, was handed the sentence at Carlisle Crown Court after police stopped him in the street in Maryport.

The court was told Thompson, of Ennerdale Road, Maryport, was stopped on June 22 last year.

He admitted possessing a class C drug with intent to supply.
