The passenger who died following a car crash in Cumbria has been named.
He was Robin Hewitt, 19, of Milner Mount, Penrith.
He was in the back seat of a silver BMW which crashed on the B5320 at Eamont Bridge, near Penrith, at 11.25pm yesterday.
The driver of the car and another passenger, a Penrith man aged 20, were both taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle following the collision.
Police say the car left the road just before Eamont Bridge village and hit a tree.
The driver - a 23-year-old man from Penrith - has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He will be interviewed by police when he is discharged from hospital.
The road was closed for the scene to be examined. It reopened this morning.
Anyone with information about the incident should call the roads policing unit on 101.
