Man suffering hypothermia seriously ill in Cumbrian hospital

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being found suffering from hypothermia.

The 43-year-old was found at 8.20am yesterday on Isabella Road in Workington after police were told he had been seen lying on the ground.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene and he was taken to the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven where his condition was described as serious.

Police are urging members of the public to help them find out how the man came to be lying in the road.
