Man injured in Cumbrian motocross accident

A man was airlifted to hospital in Carlisle after a motocross accident today.

The man, who hasn't been named, suffered back and chest injuries while taking part in an event at Haverigg near Millom.

He was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle by the Pride of Cumbria air ambulance after treatment at the scene by an aircrew doctor and paramedics. 

His injuries were said to be not life-threatening.
