Man injured in Carlisle pub brawl

Police are investigating after a man was hurt in a brawl in a Carlisle pub.

The fight broke out just before midnight on Sunday, February 3 in Gallagher’s Irish Bar on St Nicholas Street, off Botchergate.

A police spokesman said that one of the men had been knocked to the ground and “repeatedly kicked in the head and the body”.

He said the victim had sustained “deep cuts” to his mouth and the back of his head.

The fight had involved about 10 men thought to be in their twenties.
