Man flown to Newcastle hospital after falling from roof

A man in his sixties has been airlifted to hospital in Newcastle after falling from a roof.

The Pride of Cumbria air ambulance was called to the man who suffered severe head and back injuries this morning.

The man had fallen from the roof into a garden at Eaglesfield, near Cockermouth.

He was said to be stable on arrival at the Royal Victoria Infirmary.
