Man escapes police after Carlisle burglary

Police are hunting a man in connection with the theft of a car and TV.

A black Audi A3 and television were stolen following a house burglary in Egerton Grove in Carlisle.

The car and TV were found in Dowbeck Road at around 4am today.

A man in his 20s, wearing grey tracksuit pants, a blue hoodie and black Nike Air Max trainers ran from police officers.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious or a man matching the description is asked to contact police on 101.

Police are reminding residents to be vigilant of suspicious activity and make sure windows and doors are locked securely, and CCTV, locks, security lighting and other security measures are in good working order.
