Man denies three charges of attacking Penrith woman

A man accused of three acts of violence against a Penrith woman in two days is to go on trial in September.
John Albert Curran, 34, pleaded not guilty at Carlisle Crown Court to three charges of assaulting Holly Roberts – two arising from alleged incidents on April 28 and one on April 29.
He also denied causing criminal damage to a door belonging to Ms Roberts, between April 27 and 30 and possessing a kitchen knife in Grove Court, Penrith, on April 28.
Curran, who used to live in Drovers Lane, Penrith, but gave no fixed address, was remanded in custody.
He will go on trial on September 10.
