Man charged with attempted robbery at Carlisle beauty salon

A man accused of trying to rob a Carlisle beauty salon has appeared before a judge at the city’s Crown Court.

Peter Raymond Kenney, 43, of Eldon Drive, Harraby, Carlisle, was arrested after an incident at Amanda’s Hair Design in Central Avenue, Harraby, on the afternoon of March 11.

He was later charged with attempted robbery.

At today's preliminary hearing, Kenney spoke only to confirm his name.

He will not be asked to enter a plea until his court appearance on April 28.

He was remanded in custody.
