Man arrested after attack on woman in Carlisle city centre

A 19-year-old man has been arrested following an attack in which a woman was left with a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain.
The woman, 24, suffered the serious injuries while trying to stop two men fighting in Carlisle city centre during the early hours of the morning.
She had to be taken to hospital after being hurt in Court Square on Sunday, October 28.
