A man from Whitehaven has been flown to hospital in Newcastle after he suffered what medics say was a severe arm injury caused by a chain saw.
The patient, aged in his 60s, was injured at around 9.45am yesterday and treated at the scene by paramedics and the air ambulance doctor before being flown in the Pride of Cumbria Air Ambulance to the Royal Victoria Hospital.
The journey took 23 minutes and the patient was stable on arrival, said a spokesman for the air ambulance.
