Man airlifted after St Bees Head fall

A man has been airlifted to hospital after falling down an embankment at St Bees Head.

The 44-year-old from Telford was taken to the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven with non-life threatening head injuries.

He was said to be stable on arrival.

The Pride of Cumbria helicopter was called to help ambulance service paramedics.

The man was flown to hospital after being assessed by a doctor at the scene.
