A man has been taken to hospital with facial injuries after a crash near Wigton.
The collision happened at about 9.15am at the temporary traffic lights on the A596 at Micklethwaite.
Details are still emerging but it is understood to have involved two vehicles, a Reays bus and a lorry.
The male driver of the lorry was taken by ambulance to the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, suffering from glass injuries to his face. These are not believed to be life-threatening.
The driver of the bus - which was not carrying any passengers - was not hurt.
The road was closed and drivers were told to find alternative routes.
The road reopened shortly before 12noon.
