Two men caught up in a cannabis plot have been sentenced for their involvement.
Nathan John Roper, 22, was sent straight to prison while his 23-year-old partner-in-crime Jordan Lee Pattinson received a suspended term at Carlisle Crown Court today.
Last year police seized cannabis from two Workington addresses, worth about £8,000.
Evidence revealed Roper and Pattinson, both of Mossbay Road, Workington, were involved in a "considerable" illegal supply trade.
The men each admitted a charge of conspiracy to supply the class B drug - from mid-June to mid-August, 2016. Roper also admitted being concerned in cannabis supply on March 20 last year following a further cannabis seizure outside of Cumbria.
Judge Barbara Forrester heard the men were sorry for their respective wrongdoing.
She handed Roper an immediate 20-month prison term, while Pattinson's eight-month jail sentence was suspended for a year.
Pattinson was also ordered to complete 120 hours' unpaid work, a three-month night-time curfew and a rehabilitation requirement.
