Emergency services at the scene
A WOMAN has been taken to hospital following a crash which closed a key Carlisle road.
She was in a collision on Bridge Street, at the traffic lights beside Sainsbury's, which involved a Ford Transit van and a black Seat.
Emergency services were called at about 2.55pm.
The road heading towards Hardwicke Circus was closed from the Caldewgate roundabout but has since reopened.
The woman was put on a spinal board and taken to the city's Cumberland Infirmary.Fire fighters assisted paramedics who were treating her at the scene.
Police said she and another woman both suffered minor injuries.
There was heavy, slow moving traffic in the area. Were asked to avoid the area while police diverted traffic from the scene.
