Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team was called to two separate incidents on Friday.

A 50-year-old woman from Rotherham was stretchered a waiting ambulance at Low Park, Loweswater after slipping and injuring her ankle on the lakeshore path around Crummock Water.

The team was also called to Scarth Gap, Buttermere at 8.30pm following a report that a 39-year-old man had slipped and injured his ankle.

He was stretchered down to Gatesgarth Farm where an ambulance was waiting and was transferred to the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven for further treatment.
