Six men will be sentenced next year for their roles in an illegal drug plot.

Members of the group, which includes three men with Carlisle addresses, appeared at the city's crown court today.

During a short hearing before Judge Barbara Forrester, the men entered guilty pleas to a variety of offences.

A third Carlisle man, 25-year-old Andrew John Berry, of Bower Street, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to to supply class B cannabis.

Lee Jamieson, 30, of Churchfield Road, Liverpool, also admitted being involved in the conspiracy to supply cocaine.

Also appearing in court were two other male defendants who had entered guilty pleas on a previous occasion.

Sam Stone, 54, of Lynwood Avenue, Darwen, Lancashire, has admitted conspiring to supply cocaine, heroin and cannabis; and John Patefield, 48, of Rivacre Road, Ellesmere Port, has admitted being involved in the cocaine supply conspiracy.

These offences are said to have occurred during a period between January 1 and August 18 this year.

A seventh defendant, Kathleen Berry, 25, of Brampton Old Road, Carlisle, pleaded guilty to one charge of being concerned in the supply of cannabis to another, on June 23.

No details about any of the illegal activity were outlined in open court.

The hearing was adjourned by Judge Forrester to a future date, when the defendants will be sentenced at the crown court.

All of the men were remanded in custody, while Kathleen Berry was granted bail.
