Cumbria Police say that nine phones have been reported as stolen following the first night of the new Milecastle 66 festival in Bitts Park.

The victims are said to be from across northern England and the south of Scotland.

A police spokesman said: "The phones are thought to have been stolen by an organised group."

He added: "The public are advised to be vigilant at crowded events and keep property as secure as possible."
