Thieves have ransacked the upstairs of an elderly woman's home in Carlisle while she was alone downstairs.
Jewellery, largely a number of gold necklaces, rings and ear-rings, were taken during the raid in Briar Bank, Belah.
Police say the burglary happened while the vulnerable woman was home alone last night.
A quantity of cash was also taken. One of the necklaces had a rose gold tear drop attached.
Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen someone carrying ladders in the street or any reported sightings of three males seen leaving the area.
Anyone with information is asked to call DC 2244 Jobson of Carlisle CID on 101.
