A TEENAGER has been charged with grevious bodily harm following an alleged assault in Workington.

Jonathan Winstanley, 18, of Firth View Walk will appear before north Cumbria Magistrates' Court tomorrow.

He remains in custody following his arrest on Friday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Firth View Walk at around 4pm on Friday following reports of an assault.

A 31-year-old man was airlifted to Preston Hospital with a suspected stab wound to the back.

Police have said he remains in hospital where he is described as being in a serious but stable condition.

The police have also renewed their appeal for anyone with information about Friday's incident who has yet to come forward to call 101, quoting number 168 of March 24.
