Post was not delivered in one Cumbrian town - because of seagulls.
Royal Mail has confirmed that the swooping birds prevented their postwoman from delivering to four addresses in Maryport on Tuesday.
Among those homes was that of Paul Blenkharn in Brooklands.
He revealed how he got home on Wednesday to find a letter with a sticker on it, saying that post had not been delivered the previous day because of seagulls.
"My first thought was just 'what'," he admitted. "I then laughed and though it had to be a joke.
"I live in Maryport; it's a coastal town and there are seagulls everywhere. They're definitely not a problem though."
A Royal Mail spokeswoman said: "Royal Mail would like to apologise that we were unable to deliver to four addresses in Maryport on Tuesday due to swooping attacks by seagulls. Normal deliveries resumed on Wednesday.
"The safety of our people is paramount to Royal Mail.
