Stealthy burglars who are able to sneak into houses without making a noise have struck a number of houses in Penrith.

Police are investigating a number of burglaries that have occurred in recent days in Penrith including in Carleton Road, Rowan Court and Musgrave Street.

In all of the incidents the houses have been unlocked and burglars have been able to sneak into the houses without making noise.

Once inside, the offenders seem to be particularly looking for car keys and will either steal cars from outside houses or steal items from those cars. They have also taken valuable items left lying around.

Police have asked the public to ensure their houses and cars are locked shut and that valuable items are not left on display to potential thieves.
