A SERIAL drug dealer has been jailed for almost seven years.

Sean McDonald, 43, was handed an 80-month term after adding two more serious crimes to his lengthy list of convictions.

On two separate occasions last year, police executed search warrants in Workington when McDonald was present.

He made desperate but failed attempts to dispose of illegal substances that were in his possession.

On one of these dates, McDonald hurled heroin out of a bedroom window - only for the class A drug to land at the feet of a police officer who was stood in the street below.

McDonald pleaded guilty to a number of crimes, including the possession of heroin with intent to supply on two different dates in 2015.

At Carlisle Crown Court he was jailed for six years and eight months by Judge Peter Davies.

Judge Davies was told that McDonald, whose address was given as HMP Durham, had served three previous jail terms for drugs supply offences.

He concluded: "This is a regular drug dealer who can't keep away from it."
