A SECOND man has been found guilty of murdering Jordan Watson.

Brahnn Finley, 19, of Furze Street, off London Road, Carlisle, is the second person to be convicted of killing the 14-year-old after a Carlisle Crown Court trial.

It took the jury 12 hours and 37 minutes to unanimously convict him of murder.

The defendant sat rigidly in the dock, pale-faced as the jury foreman answered the court clerk's question: "Do you find the defendant Brahnn Finley guilty or not guilty of murder?"

The foreman answered: "Guilty."

As he did so, there were gasps from the public gallery.

Earlier, there was confusion as the jury declared the defendant not guilty - a verdict which was apparently delivered in error after confusion over the legal definition of joint enterprise.

Finley's co-accused, George Thomson, 19, of Upperby Road, Upperby, was also convicted unanimously of murder this morning.

Thomson was brought back into the court dock as the jury sealed Finley's fate at about 3.45pm, after their deliberations had continued regarding him and a third man into the afternoon.

A passer-by discovered Jordan’s body in Carlisle’s Upperby Cemetery early on June 16 last year.

He had sustained horrific neck and head injuries, caused by a knife-like weapon.

The jury are now resuming their deliberations on the final defendant in the case - Daniel Johnston, 20.

Johnston, of Petteril Bank Road, Harraby, denies murder.
