A rugby player was airlifted to hospital after suffering a neck injury during a match.
The 35-year-old man was playing at Carlisle Rugby Club, off Warwick Road, on Saturday afternoon.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service was called to the incident at 3.28pm.
The crew, along with a North West Ambulance Service paramedic, assessed the man at the scene.
He was then flown to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle within 20 minutes.
His condition on arrival was said to be stable.
