Cumbrians will have their chance to grill politicians and panelists on an upcoming episode of BBC One's Question Time.

The topical debate programme, hosted by David Dimbleby and which features guests from the world of politics and the media, is set to be broadcast from Carlisle.

The studio is being brought to The Sands Centre for the episode on Thursday, March 30.

The audience is a key factor in the programme and moves the debates forward.

Guests - who recently included John McDonnell, Liz Truss and Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes - will answer pre-selected questions put to them by member of the audience.

Members of the public can apply for a spot in the audience but this must be done through the BBC and tickers are not available from the venue.

To apply to be in the audience please visit bbc.co.uk/questiontime. Viewers don't have to be in the audience to have their say and can take part in the debate during the programme by sending a text message to 83981 or via social media using the hashtag #BBCQT.
