Power restored in Carlisle after 500 homes and shops hit
Power has been restored to 500 homes and shops in Carlisle.
It was the second major power cut affecting the city centre in three days.
Shops were forced to close for up to an hour while engineers worked to identify and repair the problem.
Electricity North West said 506 properties in the CA1 and CA3 postcode areas were affected by the power cut, just before 1pm.
Most properties had supplies restored by 2pm.
On Friday a similar power cut left shoppers trapped in lifts.
The problems forced some shops to close for almost two hours.
