A driver who died in a serious three-vehicle crash on the Dumfries by-pass has been named.

Yvonne Blackman, 66, of Dalton, Lockerbie, died at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow, yesterday.

Her white Toyota was involved in a crash with a white Daf recovery lorry and grey BMW on Wednesday, February 8.

Mrs Blackman was initially taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary with serious spinal and chest injuries. She was later transferred to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

The BMW driver, a 56-year-old man from Carlisle, and the lorry driver, a 33-year-old man from Dongan, Ayr, were both uninjured in the crash.

Police Scotland said the Procurator Fiscal has been informed.
