Police have named two men who died after a plane heading for Carlisle Airport crashed.

Anthony Woodward, 62, and Robert Archer, 57, died after the light aircraft crashed into the sea off the Mull of Kintyre on Thursday afternoon.

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch sent a team to the area.

No further details about the men have been released, but a spokesman for Police Scotland said their relatives are aware.

He added: "A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
