Past and present students at Newton Rigg College gathered today to mark the official opening of a special garden created to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the Penrith college.
At a special ceremony in the college grounds, the garden, which took three years to create at a cost of £10,000, was unveiled by Neville Howard of Greystoke Castle, whose great uncle was college founder, Henry Charles Howard.
The garden was the brainchild of the Newton Rigg Society, who wanted to create a lasting legacy for the college.
