A MAN accused of six child rapes is to stand trial at Carlisle Crown Court in the new year.
Billy Sowerby, 26, appeared before a judge today to enter not guilty pleas to a total of 12 charges.
He denied six counts of raping a child aged under 16, along with six other sex assault allegations.
Sowerby, of Croft Close, Brough, spoke from the dock only to confirm his name and enter pleas to the charges.
Judge Barbara Forrester adjourned the case for trial in February. Sowerby was bailed.
