The family of Edward Alexander Morrow, known as Eddie, say he will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Mr Morrow, 48, of Roweltown, died when his yellow BMW hit a tree on a country road near his home.

The incident happened at about 9.45pm at Roweltown last night.

His family said of Mr Morrow: "He was the kindest, caring and most loving husband, father, son, brother and friend, and will be truly missed by his wife Donna, son David, daughter Laura and all that knew him."

They said Mr Morrow loved football, particularly England and Liverpool Football Club. He also loved socialising with friends and family.

Police say Mr Morrow's car was heading in the direction of Longtown when it was involved in a collision on a bend, hitting the tree. No other vehicles were involved.

Passing motorists stopped to help but Mr Morrow was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for several hours while police carried out detailed investigations.
