Firefighters had to cut a man free after his foot became trapped in a steel banister.
It happened at 9.55am this morning at Helton, near Penrith.
Fire crews said the man had fallen down stairs inside a house, on the access road from Helton to Heltondale.
His leg had become trapped in a steel banister.
Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to release him before handing him into the care of the air ambulance.
