A man has appeared in court charged with 18 sex offences.
Arthur Warwick, 58, appeared at the magistrates court in Carlisle today, via videolink from prison.
Warwick, formerly of Roundthorn, Penrith, is charged with one offence of raping a boy under 16, three offences of making indecent images of boys, seven indecent assaults, one alleged possession of an indecent image and six accusations of other serious sexual offences against boys.
The allegations are all said to have taken place in Penrith and relate to various dates between 1976 and March 2016.
Warwick did not enter pleas and was remanded in custody prior to his next appearance at Carlisle Crown Court on August 26.
