A man has appeared in court accused of a knife attack in a Whitehaven pub.
Tyrone Paul Glaister, 51, of Duke Street, Whitehaven, appeared at West Cumbria Magistrates Court today.
He is accused of unlawfully and maliciously wounding Mark Crosby, causing him grievous bodily harm, at the Three Tuns pub on Duke Street on Saturday evening.
He also faces charges of attempted grievous bodily harm against James Colligan in the same place and possessing a seven-inch hunting knife in Scotch Street on the same date.
Pam Ward, prosecuting, said Mr Crosby had suffered injuries to his bowel and kidney and was hospitalised after the incident.
Glaister, wearing grey jogging bottoms and a lighter grey sweatshirt, spoke only to give his name, address and date of birth in the short hearing.
The defendant, represented by David Martin, entered no pleas.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on October 31.
