A man has appeared at Carlisle Crown Court and admitted a charge of blackmail.
Andrew Scantlebury, 32, entered his guilty plea during a brief hearing today before Judge Tony Lancaster.
Scantlebury accepted making an unwarranted demand of £3,000 from Tony Jackson with menaces with a view to gain for himself or another, or with intent to cause loss to another.
No details about the offence - which was committed on 20th January - were outlined. Judge Lancaster adjourned the case until June 24.
Scantlebury, of Brunswick Road, Penrith, is due to return to the crown court on that date. More background information was requested, and in the meantime he was remanded on conditional bail.
