Scores of Cumbrians are taking part in National Record Store Day, rediscovering why vinyl is so good.
In Carlisle, the focus of everybody's interest today has been the Vinyl Cafe in Abbey Street, where fans of the format have gathered to browse amoung the records and enjoy live music.
"There's a real warmth about music recorded on vinyl, and it's the most durable format," said James Brown, who launched the business in the middle of last year.
He said he has beem delighted with the turn-out so far for the all-day event, which includes live music from several local bands, including Hardwicke Circus, Kontiki Suite, and mylittlebrother.
