The Lakesman triathlon will take place in West Cumbria on Sunday.

The following roads will be closed and restrictions in place to allow the race to go ahead:

Keswick

  • U2936 Lake Road, Keswick from its junction with the B5289, extending in a south westerly direction for about 460m. There is no suitable alternative route available for motor vehicles.

The route will be closed from 12.01am on June 17 to 11.59am on June 19.

  • B5289 High Hill, Keswick, from its junction with the A66, extending in a westerly direction for around 930m.

An alternative route for motor vehicles will be available via the A66 and the A5271 Crosthwaite Road.

  • U2880 Church Lane, Keswick, from its junction with the B5289 High Hill, extending in a north westerly direction for about 210m.

There is no suitable alternative route available for motor vehicles.

  • U2219, Keswick, from its junction with the B5289 High Hill, extending in a south westerly direction for about 255m.

There is no suitable alternative route available for motor vehicles.

The routes will be closed between noon and 11.59pm on June 18.

Routes for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.

  • Prohibit any vehicle from waiting or loading and unloading at any time, on any day along both sides of the U2219, Keswick from its junction with the B5289, extending in a south westerly direction for about 255m.

The restriction will be in place from 12.01am on June 17 to 11.59pm on June 19.

  • Prohibit any motor vehicle from proceeding other than in a north easterly direction along that section of the A5271 Crosthwaite Road, Keswick from its junction with High Hill to Brundholme Road.

A suitable alternative route for south west-bound motor vehicles will be available via the unrestricted section of Crosthwaite Road, Vicarage Hill and High Hill between noon and 4pm on June 18.

  • Prohibit any motor vehicle from proceeding other than in a south easterly direction along that section of High Hill, Keswick from its junction with Vicarage Hill to its junction with Carding Mill Lane.

A suitable alternative route for north west bound motor vehicles will be available via the unrestricted section of High Hill, Main Street, Bank Street, Penrith Road and the A66, between 9am and 11.59pm on June 18.

  • Prohibit any motor vehicle from proceeding other than in a south westerly direction along that section of the U2097 Vicarage Hill, Keswick from its junction with Crosthwaite Gardens to its junction with High Hill.

Due to the closure of High Hill, Keswick, north east-bound vehicles should follow the diversion route detailed for that closure, via the A66 between 9am and 11.59pm on June 18.


Whitehaven and surrounding areas

  • Prohibit any vehicle from making a right turn from the A595 Loop Road, Whitehaven onto the A5094 Inkerman Terrace, Whitehaven.
  • Prohibit any vehicle from making a right turn from from the exit of the Westlakes Science Park onto the A595 Egremont Road. Suitable alternative routes will be signed on site as appropriate.

Anticipated duration: Between 8am and 11am on June 18.

  • Prohibit any motor vehicle from proceeding other than in a south easterly direction along that section of the B5295 Ribton Moorside, Hensingham, from its junction with the A595 to its junction with the mini roundabout at Main Street, Hensingham.

A suitable alternative route for north west-bound motor vehicles will be available via the unrestricted section of the B5295 and the A595 between 8am and 11am on June 18.


Workington

  • Prohibit any vehicle from making a right turn from the A597 Solway Road, Workington onto the A597 Viaduct, Workington, between 8am and 11am on June 18.

Prohibit any vehicle which is proceeding in a north westerly direction along the B5297 Station Road, Workington from entering the A597 Viaduct, between 8am and 11am on June 18.
