A tremendous trail of light spiralled down a Lakeland fell in an amazing show of support for earthquake victims.
Hundreds of people lit up Catbells for the Catbells Festival of Light, raising thousands of pounds to help communities in Nepal devastated by last year’s earthquake.
Spectacular scenes were created on Saturday night as money was raised for
Community Action Nepal (CAN), a charity set up by Cumbria-based mountaineer Doug Scott.
The money raised will be used by CAN to provide long-term support to enable the rebuilding and rehabilitation of remote Nepalese mountain communities affected the earthquake in which several thousand people were killed.
