The sacrifices made by armed forces personnel from across the country were honoured at a ceremony in Workington today.
Civic dignitaries, armed forces representatives and Allerdale council members and staff gathered at Allerdale House for a flag-raising ceremony to mark Armed Forces Day.
The event began with a procession through the building's car park before Mayor of Allerdale Mary Bainbridge and the Rev Bryan Rowe gave readings by the flag pole and the flag was lifted.
