Pop prince Olly Murs has today unveiled plans for a 20-date summer tour - including Carlisle.

Singer and television presenter Murs will roll into Carlisle United’s home as part of his biggest line-up of outdoor gigs to date.

The concert at Brunton Park follows last year's sell-out gig by Sir Rod Stewart, with Blues' bosses hoping the cheeky Essex lad will also bring in the crowds.

Murs said: “I am thrilled to play at Brunton Park.

“Outdoor shows are so much fun and I am looking forward to performing my biggest songs on my biggest outdoor tour.”

As one of Britain’s musicians of the moment, Murs is sure to bring a bumper following with him.

This year has been another incredible one for Murs, as he celebrated his fourth successive number one album and became the most successful solo artist ever to come from the X Factor. He was runner up in 2009.

His gig will be the final part of a double-header at the Warwick Road ground, with British reggae legends UB40 playing there the night before.

It is gearing up to be a spectacular summer of music, as Murs' announcements comes on the same day that global superstar Bryan Adams revealed he will be playing at the city's Bitts Park .

Tickets go on sale on Friday.
