FIREFIGHTERS were called to reports of a house blaze in Carlisle.
Crews from the Carlisle East and Carlisle West stations rushed to Brunton Crescent at 1.30am today.
They found that an electrical fuse had blown while the disabled occupant was upstairs.
There was no fire but smoke and scorch marks under the stairs.
A fire service spokesman said it was a flood-hit property and urged anyone moving back into their homes to first check the electrics.
