A woman has died following a collision on a busy road in north Cumbria.
The 92-year-old, from the local area, was involved in the crash on the A69 at 5.10pm yesterday (Wednesday) at Aglionby, near Carlisle.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A motorcyclist, who was riding a Honda CBF1000, was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle with minor injuries.
He was discharged after treatment.
The road was closed in both directions between junction 43 of the M6 at Carlisle and the A689 at Brampton.
Traffic diversions were put in place.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision. Call 101.
