A DRUG addict has been jailed after she breached a suspended prison term.

Karly Fisher, 25, was punished at Carlisle Crown Court last year having admitted a charge of possessing heroin with intent to supply.

She was given a 21-month prison sentence, which was suspended for two years.

But Fisher was brought back to court after she went on to commit two further offences.

She pleaded guilty to the theft of aftershave from Workington's Debenhams store, on January 2 and handling a stolen bank card late last year.

At the crown court today Judge Barbara Forrester heard that Fisher's pledge to give up drugs had been questioned by experts.

As a result, Judge Forrester told Fisher, of Wilson Street, Workington, she had no alternative but to send her straight to prison for 11 months.
